Recently, at the Datang International Douhe Thermal Power Project undertaken by China Energy Engineering Nuclear Power Company, with the completion of the upper semi-circle concrete pouring of section E of corridor C2, the coal conveying system achieved full-line connectivity and officially entered the overall equipment commissioning stage, laying the foundation for the project to receive coal by rail on schedule and for subsequent environmentally friendly and economical operation.
This project is a key project in Tangshan, Hebei Province during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. It is a capacity replacement project consisting of 2×660 MW coal-fired combined heat and power units, with flue gas treatment facilities constructed simultaneously. The coal conveying system uses a 3,941-meter corridor to connect the car dumper room 26 meters underground with the side coal bunker 59 meters above ground, linking 23 buildings in series. It is also adjacent to the Douhe Reservoir, and the deep foundation pit construction of the car dumper room is highly challenging. The project team overcame difficulties such as a narrow site, abundant groundwater, and a compressed schedule, and achieved corridor completion by the end of June.
After completion, the project is expected to generate 5.9 billion kWh of electricity annually and provide a maximum heating area of 28 million square meters, helping to advance the building of Hebei into a strong energy province and supporting Tangshan’s green transition, while easing heating pressure in winter. Going forward, the team will accelerate follow-up work and contribute to energy development.
