PowerChina and Shanghai Sign a Strategic Cooperation Agreement

On July 3, PowerChina and the Shanghai Municipal Government held a signing ceremony in Shanghai for a strategic cooperation framework agreement. PowerChina General Manager Wang Bin and Shanghai Vice Mayor Chen Jie signed the agreement on behalf of both parties, and at the same time PowerChina’s East China Regional Headquarters signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the People’s Government of Songjiang District, Shanghai.

Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Mayor of Shanghai, stated that Shanghai is strengthening its “four major functions” and deepening the development of the “five centers”. He affirmed PowerChina’s strengths in fields such as energy security, low-carbon transition, and smart city infrastructure, and expressed the hope that this signing would be taken as an opportunity to deepen cooperation and create a new model of government–enterprise partnership.

Ding Yanzhang, Party Secretary and Chairman of PowerChina, thanked Shanghai for its support, noting that the company has already participated in key projects in Shanghai in areas such as infrastructure, ecological and environmental protection, and new energy. Going forward, PowerChina will give full play to its integrated advantages in “investment, construction, and operation”, increase the input of resources in Shanghai, and help Shanghai build itself into an international metropolis. Relevant officials from Shanghai and PowerChina attended the event.
